Royal Doulton Flambé Dog of Fo Figurine Royal Doulton Flambé Dog of Fo Figurine
This Flambé Dog of Fo was commissioned especially for a member of the Royal Doulton International Collectors Club. It is numbered #07573. Just like any pedigreed dog, this Dog of Fo has “his papers” and we will gladly include them with the figurine. It was designed by William K. Harper and issued in 1982. The figurine stands about 5” tall, and is about 4” wide from tail to forepaw. It is in excellent condition.

The Dog of Fo was actually a depiction of the lion in ancient China and was believed to have great protective powers. It has traditionally stood in front of important edifices since the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). Pairs of the guardian lions are still common decorative and symbolic elements even today.
