Van Briggle Gallery

Artus and Anne Van Briggle founded one of the most prominent American Art Nouveau pottery companies in 1901 in Colorado Springs. Van Briggle’s designs were world renowned, and many people were surprised to find such fine art work being produced in a young western state. Van Briggle employed clays found around Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and experimented relentlessly for the perfect matte glazes which he believed would reflect the real tones of the natural world.
